I was looking at the online manual and it seems all I need to do is drop the spring detent, swing the guard out, and use a 1/16th punch to drive the rear pin out. I'm to much of a pansy to muscle it and it is being stubborn, can anyone give me step by step of how they would do it.

I don't have a punch but am using a 1/16th allen to push it is this whats causing problems?

Use a punch, and make sure you support the trigger guard tabs or you will break the tabs off.

Use the right tool.

Go to Sears and spend $9 on the punch set.
Definitely use a block of wood under the ear to support it.
If you want to get high tech, drill a small hole in the wood for the pin to fall into.
A little penetrating oil may help.

Okay well the pin came out and I didn't deform anything. Im gonna go pick up the punch set and I have another question. What do you mean by support the ear. I assume you mean having a piece of wood underneath the ear or do you mean between them?

Getting the pin back in is proving to be difficult

ETA used the vice grip method and it took 2 seconds. Thanks for the links and help!
