Most extractors dont even need 1. Some 4 coil extractors operate better with it though. Its really easy to find out if its a spare though, just drive out the pin and look......lol

Even if it's not shoot the gun without it as long as there's a buffer in the center of the spring, if you are getting good extraction/patterns then just keep it as a backup.

The o-ring is the current ‘fix’ for high cyclic rate weapons that have extraction problems.
It would be rare to see a 14.5” or longer barreled weapon need the o-ring unless it is substantially over gassed.
