Is there a way to identify if a LPK is a RRA?  I just received one that was advertised as a RRA but I don't see any markings.  It just came in 3 separate plastic bags.  Thanks for the help.

To give you a specific answer––-No there ius no way to ID anybodies pzrts, except for Colt and FN.  DPMS and a couple of other outfits do package their kits in brand IDd packages, but once they're taken from the package they're the same as everyone elses.

But more to the point, why do you think RR's stuff is any better than anyone elses? They're made by the same subcontrators everyone else uses, In fact. the one time (never again) I ordered some parts from RR they sent me a mag release that was broiken, right out of the box. And yes, the stuff was ordered directly from RR.

Now that was a few years back, and maybe they do a better job of checking what they're shipping now; but I'm not willing to take the risk any more.

I have an RRA LPK in my A4 and an M1S LPK in my M4gery. The parts appear identical in every way with the following two minor differences:

1. Trigger and hammer springs in the M1S LPK are slightly stiffer (and I do mean slightly)
2. The safety selector in the RRA LPK has an index mark on the right side and the M1S does not.

That's it!

Source of my parts:

RRA ordered and shipped from PKfirearms (and I trust these fellas sell me what I order)
M1S purchased directly from M1S at the Ft Worth Gun Show last November.

In the past RRA used notched hammers. But that was before the panic set in

As implied, the best way to be sure, is to order from someone reputable. I prefer RRA's as well due to the springs. The ones in a DPMS kit were/are of a coppery color and noticably weaker than the RRA's. I think they would still work, but for now, the DPMS parts are in a spare field kit. There have been mixed reviews here on DPMS. Some have had issues, some defend them to the death. I suspect the truth is somewhere in between for DPMS. I have not read bad reveiws on the RRA's part kits and have had nothing but good results with them.
