I just picked up my new AR build.  I had everything built to my specs.  Now I've run into an issue.  The BCG I ordered for the build (Young MFG) does not appear to be the BCG I got.  Upon tear down, the machining looks substandard from what I've seen of the Young, the Young logo isn't present, and a "R" is stamped on top of the carrier.

Can anybody confirm the manufacturer of this BCG?

Try using Photobucket.
Then you copy and paste the IMG code into your post.
Not that hard.

IM me with the image and I'll put it up if PB doesn't work for you.

I have always used imageshack.  Does photobucket work with android phones or is their a host site that does?

That is not a young mfg, unless it is an older one. I have 2 of their chrome bcg from Rainier Arms and thay don't look like that.

It appears to be Remington (DPMS)

Bout what I figured.  He quoted me the M16 chrome Young, pulled a DPMS from the parts bin when I was there.  I mentioned it and he said he would put the Young in.  I've sent him an email to see how he wants to handle it.  I paid for and therefore WANT the Young...not DPMS

Got more bad news for you sunshine...
That's not an M-16 carrier.

Yeah, I know.  That I could almost deal with swapping a Young for DPMS...not a chance.  Sunshine...really?  haha

Photobucket works great with android. Very easy to use. One of the apps I actually use the most on my Droid Razr

That should be ok, apparently Colt doesn't either - it is the new milspec kool-aid, staking the key is outdated!

I use Photobucket about 99.99% of the time from my Samsung SII (Android) to comment and post pics. Pretty good pics coming from a smart phone too and it's easy to upload pics from your gallery to your Photobucket account. Once you have a pic uploaded to your PB account, tap on the picture and press the menu options. Go to "View Links" and select the IMG link. It should be the last one, 4th at the bottom. It copies the link and all you have to do is paste it on your reply here on Arfcom.

Okay so next question...
Are all young bcg's marked with the Y/M logo?  Even from rainier?

M16 vs AR vs Nat'l Match ???  All marked as Y/M???

Currently the non-NM carriers are not marked.

Y/M BCGs @ Rainier Arms

Okay, so to clear this up...NOT a Young BCG.  Not sure what it is/was.  I now have a Young chrome M16 BCG in this build.  I need to replace the stock screw that hold teh stock to the buffer tube and she is all don.  The Viper PST 1-4x24 is bore sighted today and ready to get some rounds down range.

Anybody have a clue on the MFG of that original BCG?  Machining was pretty rough

I have owned several DPMS rifles and have NEVER seen a carrier of theirs marked with an 'R' like that.

Nothing wrong with DPMS carriers either.

I received my new RRA bcg today.    No R marking.

Hard to tell what rough machining you refer to from the photo.    As long as the contact surfaces are smooth, its GTG.

Most of the carrier body doesn't contact anything, rough surface is fine.
