[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Identify this upper

Sorry for the crappy picture, but can anyone identify this upper? The bolt carrier that came in it is a RRA

Look at the symbol just above the forward assist. Any ideas?

If it is a RRA it will have this logo on the top of the receiver.

The symbol above the forward assist is showing who made the forged blank. That symbol is used by Cardinal. Cardinal is a forge that makes raw pieces for pretty much all the rifle makers

early RRA's are not marked like the later ones

Only if it was made in the last couple of years. Earlier RRs are unmarked.

(Added) Whoops. should have read the whoile thread before I duped the post above me.

Bottom line is, why is it important to you to know who made it? If it fits well and works, does it matter?

If your sure the barrel and upper came from the same place, it might be easier to determine if you told us what is stamped on the barrel.

The cardinal forge mark really doesn't tell you much, since A LOT of uppers are forged by cardinal.

Thanks LJUnaTIC, would I have to remove my handguard to reveal this? Not much daylight between the two. ALSO, I bought this as a complete upper with an E.R. Shaw barrel and a RRA bolt carrier, if that helps...

if you go read that thread it tells you where to find the markings. You may have a tought time with seeing them with that free float.

BTW, RRA bolt carrier groups are pretty common, as they are of good quality for less money, so that upper could be a home built with RRA parts.

Like was said earlier, if it shoots and functions well, then don't sweat it
