I just put a Tapco adjustable on my ar. IM useing the short buffer and short spring on it. Its a carbine  I had indent on my buffer from my buffer retention pin. I tightened the stock up another turn, The stick has a half moon in it for the tit part of the pin. The stock is now screwed over the retention pin and the half moon is almost touching the tit part of the retention pin. Could this have been the problem? Does this sound like it is installed right? Thanks in advance for your help

Edge of the receiver extension should be almost kissing the center post of the buffer retaining pin as end of the tube is over the outer flats holding the pin place.

On some of the cheaper units, you will need to file the end of the tube to both allow the end of the tube to kiss the center post of the pin, and index correctly for orientations of the butt stock it's self.  Also, remember that the end of the tube is oblong, so any material that you remove the bottom, chances are you will need to remove the top as well to prevent the top edge of the tube from blocking the upper from locking home (catching on the back of the carrier as the top of the tube protrudes past the lower receiver threads).
