| Comes in a white box with blue lettering or black with some blue. Can't remember exactly but it was 556 55grain fmjbt and I could not keep it on a 12" target at 50 yds. I did however have very good luck with magtech 55 grain and PMC X-tac 62 grain. Should maybe add my barrel is 1/9 twist so my thinking from what I've read here 55 & 62 should be a good match for this twist rate. I guess I just wanted to see if anyone else had any issue with this brand or maybe someone can save themself some heart ache by reading this before spending $ don't get me wrong it was cheap ammo. Not that any ammo is cheap but I did pay slightly more for it than the pmc and a good amount more than I paid for the magtech. |
| Yes that's it. I had 60 rounds 3 20rd boxes maybe it doesnt like my M&P sport. It cycled fine. I just couldnt keep it on paper. I'm by no means a professional shooter to any degree. I'm actually new to rifles but I did do significantly better with the other brands. I wouldn t say anything MOA but they were hits for sure. Maybe ill try another box. |

I found the white box Independence brand 55 grain to be less accurate than Lake City XM193 through a 6920 1/7 upper and a Rainier Arms Medcon 18" 1/8 upper.
No vertical stringing, just group size opened up. But it is not sold as match ammo. Independence ammo=blaster ammo. Still better than Wolf or any steel case ammo though. |

IMO, wolf gold is a lot better than idependence |

FWIW- I was told by Federal Rep that their Independence 5.56x45 is made in Israel,
which means IMI manufactured. Federals send the components and case cups to Israel, the brass is formed and stuffed there, then shipped back to USA as finished ammo. Check your box, should say something like Product of Israel. Not all the Independence brand ammo is Israeli made, some is USA manufacture. |

I have shot about 1,000 rounds Independence XM193I made in Israel.
Shoots great for me. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8248/8666518940_d2874773b3_b.jpg IMG_4308 by Frank Fasulo (appsyscons), on Flickr http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3831/12373914785_546d9cb5d9.jpg IMG_5362-SMALLx by Frank Fasulo (appsyscons), on Flickr |

I do t know the correct term but I did not that mine did not have that but was more of a grey discoloration here. Maybe polished after heat or ? |

The discoloration is left in place to prove to a military customer that it was done. |

When I first started to shoot this stuff, I looked it up. IMI (Israel Military Industries) is meeting the military spec and doing a proper annealing. The discoloration is the "proof". |
| Damn tiny buttons on the phone. I noticed that mine did not have the heat marks. Annealing marks but was more of a grey color on the neck. Now I can only assume buying these new from LGS that they were factory stuff. Its not like I picked them up open box from a gun show but without these marks I'm thinking something isn't right. I noticed it right away when I was loading mags because it looked different than the other brands that did have the Annealing marks. |

Just double checked it does have the Annealing marks opposed to the others do not have it. |
