I just got a case of Prvi, drop off by the Big Brown Truck. There is a sticker on the outside of the box that says, small arms ammunition inert projectile. My understanding, inert is a dummy round, no charge, powder or primer. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Cartridges for weapons, inert projectile. Ammunition consisting of a
casing with propelling charge and a solid or empty projectile.

As opposed to

Incendiary, smoke, toxic, and tear-producing cartridges are
described under ammunition, incendiary, etc.

Inert refers to the projectile (Bullet)

Yep, NY1911guy got it right.  The bullet itself is inert, meaning it won't explode or such.  There is still a primer, powder, etc in the cartridge.

Learn something new everyday. I have just always heard inert use in the meaning of dummy. Thanks for the info.
