I need to get a high res image of the "infidel" script. We are going to be doing engravings on the sides of our lowers but I can't seem to find the artwork. John |

Caveat: I do not speak or write Arabic. That said, I believe these are what you are looking for (traditional and simplified fonts). If you want, I can send you a PDF file that you can scale as desired. ETA: As per my caveat, it appears that my first pictures included an extraneous hash mark. Wikipedia shows it without the hash, while Google Answers shows it with, and I originally accepted Google Answers. But on further investigation, I believe without the hash mark is the correct form. Without the hash shows 551,000 hits on a Google search, while with the hash shows only 600 hits. ETA-2: Thedoctors308 has explained that the "hash" mark is actually a voweling mark and that either version is correct, although it is more common to omit the voweling mark. I didn't ask why to bash CMMG. I asked why because I've seen this on several firearms/stickers/shirts etc...and I don't see the attraction. Why would anyone embrace and accept a term used by those pieces of shit? If your reasoning is that by using it you are taking it's intended purpose and twisting it, thereby rendering it powerless I say this....Black folks say the same thing about calling each other "nigga". They took a white man's insult, twisted it and made it their own. It doesn't make them sound anymore intelligent because they use that word, in fact it's a defeatist attitude and pathetic. I don't see how "infidel" is any different. Of course that's just my opinion. Worth exactly what you paid for it. |
Using your "logic", you should be hating in every single thread that is not an Colt/Armalite product. Or any thread beyond the originator of a free flot tube, or optics mouint. Does that make sense? Didn't think so.  And if you don't agree with it, why come into a thread and post garbage? Is the world a better place now? No it is not, so again, why post about it. Seems you should just move on to the next thread, rather than trashing a normal discussion for no reason. |

I sourced the script severel different places but couldn't find the small hash mark as being part of the text. I can always go back and add it if necessary. |

I've seen it with and without the hash mark. Not being an Arabic speaker, I can't guarantee which is precisely correct. I believe that Arabic script changes slightly depending on the surrounding characters. This may be an example of that and both could be right in different circumstances. For what it is worth, Wikipedia shows it without the hash, while Google Answers shows it with. At this point I would trust Wikipedia more and conclude that my pictures mistakenly included the hash mark. I think CMMG made the right call by not including the hash mark. |

You don't need to show voweling. (hash marks) Take a look at an arabic newspaper - no voweling. Native speakers don't need the voweling marks to figure out pronunciation. It is correct either way. |

Thank you for the explanation. I figured someone would know the answer, which is why I left both versions up after I discovered that the version without the hash (or rather, as you pointed out, "voweling mark") was more common. |

I think the english writing underneath makes it pretty clear. Its not like many people will know the difference with the Arabic. |
Now you know how alot of people with those "chinese character" tats feel. If they only knew what some of those said! |
