When you are waiting for a part and you email the company and they say "they expect the part to ship out this week, you will receive an email when it does"...How long do you give them before you send follow up emails?  I have sent other emails to the company and they are quick to reply and friendly in emails. However i usually always get the same reply of them going out "later this week"  Should i wait 1 week between emails or longer? What is everyone else opinion on follow up emails?

Personally, given the current state of affairs I'd just order the part and wait. If you hear nothing after 2 weeks you can give them a call / e-mail for a update. These companies are so busy right now the last thing they need is people calling and emaling every few days asking for parts. Just my .02.

^ I would agree with this...to a point.
If a company tells me 'in a week' and it
hasn't shipped in 2 weeks, I'm pissed.

Tell me up front it'll be a month, don't lie to
keep me on the hook.

If they tell me "this week", I wait til Wed of next week. Maybe Thurs.

I try to never bother them on Monday or Friday.

Especially NOW. give 'em a couple days past the date they say.

But not too much time.
Once I waited for a couple weeks past what they told me. Found out when I called, they lost my order. Luckily it was still in stock (This is awhile ago now). I did get free shipping on that order.

Be nice, It pays off eventually.

In any climate one week past the date they gave you is plenty.  Don't give out a date if you don't know.   It's that simple if a company gives out a date they should honor it within a week after that date.  If they don't they should take it upon themselves to email you and say it's gonna be longer.  That is good business keeps the customer returning.  I have dealt with several businesses who follow this type code and they are doing well, even the tiny ones.  I have dealt with a couple lately who don't and when I got my product it was far from average industry quality.  Take that for what it's worth.
