Have a tele-stock on the way. How difficult would you say it is to install on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most difficult? Also have the Ergo Grip™ coming, difficult also?  Thanks.

The tele-stock is a 1 or 2 to install IF you have the spanner wrench. Otherwise it can be irritating. Spend the extra $15 and get the heavyweight wrench. I bought 2 of the $5 versions and snapped them both. Hope that helps.

[b][blue] If your somewhat mechanical you shouldn't have any problems . Having the right tools for the job always helps too. Get yourself a car stock wrench.  I suggest when you change the grip turn the lower upside down (grip sticking up toward the ceiling) Look this site over and you can get some idea of what your up against.

Its easy.  Just make sure to use alittle locktite, normal strength and a spanner wrench.  Watch out for the detent spring[%|].
When you get the tube loose, flip the receiver over onto your bed or something so when the spring flies it only goes a couple of inches.  The first time mine shot all to hell !!!

Telestock install: 3 if you've never done it before, 1 if you have, 7 if you lose the stupid takedown pin detent spring, detent, or buffer detent spring.

If you have the spanner the hardest part is recompressing the takedown pin detent spring.

Ergo grip: -1.

Search the archives, the procedure has been described many times.

Its pretty easy I just changed mine today.Just dont loose the little spring with the detent that goes in the bottom half of the reciever when you change your stocks and make sure you tighten the buffer tube up to the detent spring inside the reciever to hold it down good.If you dont have a tele stock wrench a small punch with a cloth works pretty good just go around and tap lighty aroundf the nut thats how I did mine.

dude you dont even need the spanner wrench.

just put some electrical tape on one of the little holes, stick a screwdriver in there at an angle, and pound the nut tight.

thats how its done in the hood boyeee

Spiff.....that's just WRONG, MAN!!!!!!!!

I changed the cheezebag telestock someone had put on my Old OLY/SGW to a nice RRA the other day in about 15 minutes and that was really taking my time.  I made sure that the stock tube interferred properly with the buffer detent pin and that i didn't bind up the rear reciever pin detent spring.  I used an auto/marine grade lithium grease for assembly paste and assembled and torqued everything slowly and carefully.

The Ergo grip can be a real PITA if you do not have a hex driver long enough to reach. I had every size but THAT one. So I had to hook about 50 attachments together to make it long enough to reach.
I'd say it is easy to do the stock as long as the current A2 stock tube isn't seized into the receiver. I had to break out the big guns to get mine off for my M93 Magpul. As with everything, having the right tool makes any job 100 times easier.

As Steve said, sometimes the buffer tube is frozen and can be difficult to remove. I have seen some that were tight as %&^%&$% and required lots of force. You may get lucky. Use a few drops of penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench or whatever) before you try to unscrew it.

The rest is easy if you take your time and be careful not to lose any parts.
