I am putting a new barrel (with all the evil features) on my AR.  I have Walt Kulek's book & I understand the barrel change process, but Walt doesn't talk about installing the flashider.  Is there anything special to this process?  I have a crush washer... Just tighten it until it indexes?  Maybe some blue loctite?

crush washer faces small end toward receiver and just tighten until indexes, blue loctite wouldnt hurt a thing either

Use either a crush washer or peel washer. Torque should be 25-30 ft. lbs. when the flash suppressor is indexed correctly. No Loc-Tite is needed.
