I'm trying to install an A2 stock on one of my lowers and am having a heck of a time. Can someone walk me through the process or point me in the right direction..

Ummmm, whats the problem?  You got the little spacer for the end of the tube?  Is your stock screw long enough to go thru it?

It should be pretty straight forward unless you are either missing a piece or have a wrong piece, but if you havnt done it before it can be hard to tell that.

I'm having problems with the detent that holds the buffer in the tube. It keeps popping up and I've tightened the screw in the stock as tight as I can get it.

Remove the screw and stock and tighten the buffer tube. Then reinstall the stock. Its the buffer tube that retains the buffer pin. The stock screw only secures the stock to the tube.

The buffer tube should have a ring on it that tightens into the lower when it is screwed all the way in.  Its not like an adjustable stock where you tighten it until it holds the pin in while still allowing the tit to stay up.

You should be able to tighten the buffer tube by hand all the way till it bottoms out and the threaded end should end up just right on the detent.
