OK, I got one of these  extractor spring upgrade kits with a stronger spring but cannot figure out where to install the rubber donut that came with it. On the side where the spring goes, or the other side?

Edit: I think I figured it out, the rubber donut goes over the spring. It's much stiffer than the old one!! Does it aid in extraction? Also more difficult to take out.

The O-ring sisters between the extractor and the bolt, and installs around the new extractor spring.

D-Fender shown installed on the spring.

Thanks  for reply.
I don't see the rubber O-ring listed in any of the official manuals. Is this a fairly new upgrade?

Enhanced is not always better, unless the rig needs the extra tension for some other defect/unique situation that the extractor has to overcome.

I was having extraction issues. Although when I replaced the 5 year old stock spring with a new one, they almost went away. (Still had FTE but of a different character it seems)
I will see what difference this one makes. It is surely stiff, I can barely squeeze the extractor to get the pin out. Pliers seem to help.

I just ordered the upgrade from Bravo company but have not got it yet.

It's good for all the gas system lengths, but it makes the most improvement on the carbine, because that shorter system has the most challenges with extraction.

Check the condition of the O-ring when you clean the gun. Replace if it shows signs of impending breakage.

twl,

Do cleaning solvents like Hoppe's' #9, etc.  break down the rubber O-ring? Or is it resistant to cleaning stuff?
