I've got a couple of Magpul covers that I want to put on MI rails.  What works best when installing them?  From what I see they dont slide on fom the ends and they will be hard to hook one side on the rail and push the other side down on the rail.  Before I FUBAR these very nice covers can someone give me a pointer or two.   TIA

Just hook one side on and pull it over.

Hook one side....then while pressing down on the center and lifting on the unhooked side, push it over the other side.

Start on one end rather than in the middle.  Once you get it started, it will go on rather easily.

+1 if you do it a few times you will get the hang of it but the first couple times can be frustrating.

I broke one recently trying to put it one. They are damn stiff when new.

Start on one end, and kind of rock them on.  They are stiff when new.  Maybe applying a little heat would help, but I've never tried it.

Get the cover warm with a hair-dryer.  This will make it softer and easier to stretch.

I press one side of the cover all the way into position, then by bending the opposite edge out just a bit and applying a little pressure, push it over the side of the rail, working my way down the cover doing this every inch or so.  goes on quick.

Thanks to everyone for the help.  I tried the hair dryer and actually got an inch or two over the rail and while I was admiring my work I burnt my fingers I think hooking and pressing is the way........just take some time.

You all have a nice Christmas!
