[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Installing Vortex with no flat

We just got two Vortex - they have no flat on the sides like the ones shown in their website picture. so I supposed we got the old versions right?

Anyways, how do I install it at the proper torque if there is no flat to attach the my FS wrench with the slot for the torque wrench?

...don't remember ever seeing a torque strap wrench though hinking.gif

Just hand tighten and shoot. It will self tighten. After 50 rounds you'll need that strap wrench you were talking about to get it off.

No torque needed per the mfg. If it really bothers you, use blue loctite.

Got one that way from GTS and I use a strap wrench to put it on.

i just hand tight, then snug w/ a crecent wrench (while viced)
