Ive always just went with whatever was installed on the upper when I bought it.  My new 300 Blackout upper came last night and the flash hider was only halfway threaded on the barrel.  I tightened it finger tight against the crush washer and it goes maybe 3/16" of an inch past 12 o'clock.  Not knowing anything more about it, I doubt the crush washer will give enough to make a full turn to where it needs to be will it?  Am I going to have to ditch the crush washer and use peel washers?

I know I was surprised how much the crush washers actually give when I installed my flash hiders but I've only got 2 builds done so maybe I just got lucky.

The crush washers are designed to take up to 1 Full turn.

It will turn plenty enough to line up.

If I got something like that, I'd be contacting the manufacturer.  There's no excuse for that, and they don't just come loose.  I'd check the threads for damage, that's highly unusual.

And use the crush washer.  Make sure the washer you have is in good shape.

Contacting the manufacturer....  seriously?  Just tighten it up and call it a day.

Someone can correct me if I'm not remembering correctly but I believe a crush washer can handle up to 420 or 460 degrees of rotation after contact?....

Of course you should never have to go more than 359 degrees.

tighten, loosen, repeat

don't try to crush it all at once
