I only spin it 180 degrees per the video below. Hold it in place to how it should mount (long end on the door), then flip one end 180. Slide it together.
You can mount it without the twist, and it will just flop open. My first gun I bought from a guy was assembled this way, and I always wondered why it was lazy.. If you twist it a full twist, it will still work, but I bet it flips open really hard. Video |
| I go 360* also. It makes the cover snap down with authority, which is the way I want it since I do not want it being lazy and getting in the way. What I do is as I slide rod in, I stop about half way down the spring and curl the short legged end up and twist it a full turn, then set it down against the receiver and slide the rod in the rest of the way. It only takes three or four seconds to do unless your fingers slip off the short leg but it really is easy. |
