They had about seven boxes of this at the Austin gun show yesterday-when I got to the table.  By the time I got to that end of it, they had two boxes left-which I scarfed up!  ANY .223 priced at $4.50 a box gets my attention, but TRACERS in a now-scarce loading (ok, not terribly scarce) really did get my interest.

What the hell?  Is that a plastic hull like a shotgun shell?

Last tracers I bought were Talon's for $10, just 2 boxes for fun.

Those are keepers, at least a box or two.

Why not share them with your fellow arcommers then. I'll take a sample box.

If you put them up on the EE I will buy a few boxes light up or not to go with my Gyrojet rounds I collected some years ago from Gunparts in Ny

I was told by collectors that NATEC never loaded tracers for sale to the general public and that the ones that turn up are fakes. The red colored cases do not mean tracer IIRC, it's just one of the colors they used.

I bought two boxes of natec tracers and out of 40 rounds, two of them lit.

Maybe it's because of their reported poor functioning.

Everything I can find online (Defense Review, Small Arms Review, etc.) says that the red cases are 55gr tracers.  Not that I'm going to shoot these to see-as I said, they're for my collection.

Mine are pink hulls, and the boxs and cardboard cases say tracers.

I have a couple of boxes of those. Never shot them though.
FWIW-One of the rounds I noticed still had faded remnants of red lacquer on the bullet tip. Whether it was Natec or not who loaded these, they are using old, surplus M196 bullets that have been tumbled clean. ...Which might explain the reports of so many failures to ignite.

I think the "collectors" you spoke to don't know shit! The stuff I bought clearly is marked TRACER on the side of the box.
