I noticed that if I have my finger on the trigger after pulling, it will not fully reset. It seems that if my finger is on it, then the trigger is unable to fully move forward to reset. It also does this when dry firing with the upper removed from the lower. It is annoying to say the least. Is this normal for AR triggers. And can this be fixed or do I need new parts? Thank You, |

Does it reset if you are firing live ammo? Function Checking The Rifle 1. Pull the charging handle to cock the hammer. 2. Pull the trigger -- the hammer should fall. 3. Without releasing the trigger, pull the charging handle back again to cock the hammer. The hammer should be caught by the disconnector. 4. Release the trigger -- the hammer should NOT fall. It should be caught by the trigger. 5. Hammer should fall when trigger is pulled now. |

Before going to all the effort of sending the rifle back, lets do a few checks. 1. The trigger spring is installed with the legs forward in the receiver, and the cross section below the front of the trigger. 2. The hammer spring is installed with the legs of the spring on top of the trigger pin, and the cross section is behind the hammer. 3. When you pull the trigger, the trigger moves freely, and the pin does not rotate. If you find that the pin does rotate with the trigger, then you will need to pull the FCG and check the trigger end of channel for burs that may be binding on the pin. 4. When you run your finger nail down the disconnector sear, and the corresponding hammer sear, both edges are sharp and do not have a edge bur that was created when ground. If you find such burs, the use a stone and remove only the grinding burs. If needed, here is the build guide so you can pull the FCG (fie control group). Simple you will push out the hammer pin to allow the hammer to be removed, and then you will push out the trigger to remove the trigger and disconnector. With them in hand, check the area I have listed in 3 and 4, and if needed correct the problems. http://www.ar15.com/content/guides/assembly/lower/ |
