I would buy just M193/M855 for range use

save a few mags of 75gr TAP for protection

MK262/White box BH 77 5.56mm is good stuff I have some myself

but my go to mags are loaded with BH 75

I have a reloader
mostly loaded 38/357  40/9mm
No dies yet for 223rem

maybe after my stash is gone

Yea I was kind of thinking M855, but I never really had a urge or desire to get or shoot it, but I might just get 100 rds or so. Thanks

I'd recommend some ammo boxes and some silica gel packets...

What do you intend on using said ammo for?  Practice?  A class?  Defense?  Are you making a really big Domino Rally set out of ammo?

These rounds were in ammo cans , I just took them out for display.

Fonnzy934 ,I'm primarily looking for some more self defense inventory.

Looks like you have a good start. I don't really have a "set" amount to have on hand of anything, but I'd say you'd want some more range stuff, and then some more personal protection and or SHTF stuff. You have to pratice with it sometimes, so its good to have more then two boxes of it.

If that's the case you should read this.

The best self defense stuff is probably Hornady 75 grain 5.56 TAP (8126N), but that is very difficult to come by right now.  I would say look for some Black Hills 75 grain (blue or red box).

sportsmans guide has hornady .223 75gr match for under $16 a box for members.  it'll do the same terrific job on bad guys that other .223 75gr hornady will do.  if you run across hornday practice ammo in 75gr pick it up.  it should be around .50 a round.  same thing, it perorms almost identical to the stuff they charge much more for, it just has a steel case, and guess what?  pd's use it all around the country and it doesn't hinder the reliability of their rifles.

I shot a lot of hornady vmax 55 today and thought it was fabulous. Even your shooting a 1/7, don't think you must shoot all high gr ammo.

Note: I have been wanting to use "fabulous" today.

And as much as people complain about it. I like the 55 pmc ball too, but it is not near as fabulous at distance.

The heavy 75gr OTM are the best for protection
Shoot all the time ? NO I shoot a box  when I go to the range
but mostly M193/M855/SS109

PMC M193 AWESOME

I shot my last stash Last year
I use to shoot the stuff all the time in the Mid 80`s

I also like the canadian ammo

Well you have a nice stash.

BTW you have 350 of MK262 not 300.

The Wolf Gold 75gr and the PPU 75gr are the same round. Different packaging.

I would stock up on more 75gr since you have the barrels for it.

The PPU 75gr is a very accurate round and the bullet has good results for terminal effect.

You're good to go.

If I added anything to that, it would be some PRVI M193 for plinking and SHTF, some PRVI 75-grain for long-range target shooting, and some TAP or more MK262 for home defense, though honestly you've got enough of that.

To Dogue and DRW 1006 all I have to day is touche.I need to have my 7yr old to teach how to count again.I've narrowed it down to the M855 and I see everyone lately is on the 68 and 69 gr band wagon. So I think 500 rds of each will suffice. Thanks all for the replies.

In a way, I feel sorry for those who are only just now getting around to stocking up on ammo. Their C cards will most certainly suffer for it these days. However, my advice to those doing so would be thus...

Set yourself goals to achieve, and gradually build up your supplies to where you can maintain at least a 5000 round total inventory consisting of both your most used ammo types, as well as a small supply of special use ammo. I was somewhat luckier than most it seems as when I started buying ammo, it was both available, and A LOT cheaper then, however this is how I built my inventory up...

At first I started with maintaining a total of 500 rounds consisting of the following:

200 rounds of M193 (mixed  in with some 55gr FMJ .223 equivalents)
100 rounds of M855 (mixed in with some similar 62gr FMJ .223s)
 40 rounds of M856 Tracers
 40 rounds of 75gr Hornady TAP (.223)
60 rounds of PPU (PRVI) 75 grain Match HP (.223)
60 rounds of Federal 77gr BTHP Match (.223)

I found through experience, that my weapons shot better when using 62gr or better 5.56 NATO pressured ammo, so I later trended toward sticking with these over the .223 variants. (YMMV). I further realized that my needs were more for penetration at short distances, than for stopping power at longer ranges, so for me, M855 filled that niche quite nicely. Of course, this may not be the case for you, but this is how I next developed my stash...

I increased my overall inventory level to a total of 1000 rounds then consisting of:

200 rounds of XM193
500 rounds of M855
100 rounds of XM856
100 rounds of 5.56 75gr Hornady T2 TAP
100 rounds of Black Hills 77gr MK262 Seconds

While my weapons do shoot better with the heavier, higher pressured rounds, I decided to keep a supply of M193 maintained as an overall general practice round. (I still however, keep my Go-To weapon zeroed with M855, and my 20" barreled SDM clone variant zeroed with MK262 seconds ) At the time (early '07), I luckily foresaw the potentially impending ammo crisis of Nov. '09, and started working toward a .22lr AR build, but that's another thread entirely. Suffice it to say, I now also keep an extremely generous supply of .22lr Interceptor rounds available for that dedicated upper as well...

I next increased my stash to a 3000 round total consisting of:

 600 rounds of M193
1000 rounds of M855
 500 rounds of XM856
 500 rounds of Hornady (5.56) T2 TAP
400 rounds of Black Hills MK262 Seconds

About 3 months later, I brought the overall total to 5000 rounds consisting of:

1000 rounds of M193
2000 rounds of M855
 500 rounds of XM856
 500 rounds of Hornady (5.56) T2 Tap
1000 rounds of Black Hills MK262 Seconds

Personally, this total represents the barest minimum amount of ammo that a self-respecting Black Rifle enthusiast should maintain in such an Obamacratic environment as we live in today...but that's just my opinion - YMMV. Good luck with your stash...
