| I am having problems with my rear A2 sight. It is crooked off to the left side of the rifle. How do I fix this. It seems if that little ball and spring are pushing it in that direction. Or is this normal? |

THat is perfectly normal BUT it isn't desireable. NM sights will all but eliminate this ( with tighter fit)< they won't be as curved. Arrington Accuracy works makes a rear sight conversion that will totally eliminate any rotation of the rear sight assembly. In some cases the rotation is severe enough to warrant the NM sights match shooting or not, in most cases it is not really neccassary unless you are shooting matches. And if you are a really serious match shooter you might want to look into the Arrington Accuracy works conversion. I had a Model1Sales (I know these are cheap) that zeroed with the rear aperature all the way to the left side of the assembly- if I had kept the upper NM sights or field expedient NM sights< made by taking off the aperature and putting a bead of weld on the bottom front corner opposite the detent, and filing to fit (so the sight will still be pushed on by the detent but will now fit the reciever better and won't twist nearly as much This mod could also be done with fiberglass, or JB weld masked and painted with Ace grill paint (which happens to be the same grey-black as the rear sight) would have been necassary as the rear sight on the left side bothered the crap out of me. But I opted for the flattop upper instead. |
