| Standard AR-15 vice blocks and other tools are dime a dozen and easy to find for almost any task. Is there a recommended bench vice block to hold a .308 lower on a vice? I know I can use the same setup if I want to hold it via the receiver extension, but is there a magazine block type of vice mount that is the go to for .308? |

I used a PlastixRevolution upper receiver block for removal and retorquing the barrel nut on an Armalite upper receiver when installing a free float handguard. I didn't want to spend a lot on something I'll probably only use once. I believe it has a 50ft/lb torque limit by the manufacturer since it's made from plastic. It didn't flex or seem like it would fail when I torqued the nut to 50lbs. Likely it will survive a higher torque. They also make a receiver block for the lower that fits the mag well. They're local to me so I contacted them and picked up a block the same day. |
