So I'm sitting around today w/ the wifes & my carbines when things finaly start to dawn on me. My wife's build is a stock  16" carbine w/ upgraded bolt, carrier, 3 point sling & a #40 buis. It's wonderfully light & responsive. Mine - I've got the EoTech, M4 RAS & TD stubby. The felt difference is huge in the handling dept, more than I realized. I 've diched the RAS & TD stubby & am now much happier. There is a cost for everything, I believe for me less is more. YMMV

You are correct. I realized the same between my Recce and my 14.5" LMT. This feeling of quicker handling caused me to build another lightweight rifle.

Recce

LMT 14.5"

New lightweight(same weight as LMT 14.5")

I prefer a little weight.

Besides, anything is light compared to the SAW I carried in much harder conditions than most will with their personal AR.
