I had a gunsmith install my muzzle comp since I didnt have the tools to do so but it looks VERY slightly off dead center. Does it look off to any of you guys? Would it affect my shooting/POI? Linked a couple of pics just in case 1 wasnt enough to tell. Thanks in advance. And no I was not looking down the barrel with my own face
Apologies if this is not the right place for this topic. http://imgur.com/a/jTonn |

Man, I'm glad I'm not that O.C. Time for your meds OP! Really, if that bothers you, turn it yourself or if you don't have a way of holding the barrel, which obviously you do not or you would have installed it yourself, take it back to him and suffer the looks you are going to get. It is your rifle though and you paid to have it put on so it should be put on to satisfy you. Don't just sit on your rifle though and stick a screw driver through the break and start cranking. Depending on your barrel, BE, and amount of force needed, you could spin your barrel in your BE, especially if it is a RA melonited barrel, snap your indexing pin and turn the entire thing in your upper, or even break your upper. If you don't have the proper tools to do it, don't! Take it to someone who has them and get it tweaked. Likely you would not damage anything because the amount you are turning it is minuscule, but what if he put thread locker on it? Some smiths are more apt to screw up ARs than anyone else, especially if they have little knowledge of ARs. Phrases like, "Hell, I use thread locker on scope rings so I'll use some on the flash suppressor, that'll keep it in place" and "Crush washer, what's a crush washer?" are not uncommonly heard by some of your local smiths that just got a wood burning kit and decided to put out a GUNSMITH shingle because they like cleaning muzzle loaders. |
