I have spent the morning researching Light Weight Linear Compensators for my BAD LW build. So far I've concluded that the DPMS Levang will be the lightest for my application. 2oz as compared to the KX5 at 4.5 oz.
The Levang is 2 1/8" long. My plan is to use a 14.5" BAD Ultra Match fluted LW barrel. Assuming a 1/2" thread depth, this compensator, pinned and welded should make total length 16 1/8" So, is my math correct? |

Thread overlap is closer to 5/8" than 1/2" - but you also get a little back from the peel or crush washer. It'll be very, very close, but you can always shim it out with another washer to get over 16" if you have to. Thanks, not having the barrel in hand, I was guessing at the thread overlap. |
