Started with 8 NIW, then 4 NIW, now just ordered 7 NIW. That puts me at 19 NIW USGI mags. in like a week. I can't help but feel when I see more I'll buy them too. How do I stop?

| You're not there yet. Most people suggest 20 mags per rifle. If you only have one AR, you're almost done. If you have more AR's, you're not even close. Of course it would be a shame to open those nice NIW mags, so you will need some used ones to use at the range, right? The golden rule about mags: One can never have enough! |
Sounds like you have a serous problem. The best way to kick the bug is to send all of your mags to me. This will help you! Every time you buy a mag send it to me. Then after a few times you will realize that it is no use and just give into your bug and buy all that you can afford.![]() Samuel |

Your'e not alone!! I have the same problem! When I have some spare cash I buy mags, when I need cash for something else I will sell a few. I figure they are alot better investment than my 401K has been lately, LOL. I have propably over 100 nice used mags for my 3 Ar's. I do KEEP a few NIW mags around for a rainy day. I figure why open them when I have others to use. I doubt we will see any more new in wrapper mags made that we can own. I like to keep a stash for when my 4 year old is old enough to have a AR. Plus it's a good excuse to use on the wife when she see's another package of mags arrive in the mail |

For some time, I have tried to recall exactly what it is that I have done previously that reminds me (sort of Deja Vu)of the common characteristic of wanting all of the magazines you can get inspite of already having, let us say, "several". It has just occured to me what it is that it reminds me. I know that I am probably older than many here but shooting marbles was even before my time....it hit it's peeek in more like in my fathers time....but never-the-less once upon a brief time in the southeast United states, I lived in an area where it was popular to shoot marbles. For those of you who are not familiar with marbles suffice to say that you played for keeps and a good player would soon win all of the marbles from the novice players. seems that I lost all the marbles that I could afford for weeks and months ....Then I began to win. I won so many marbles that I ran out of places to keep them. I had cigar boxes full and fruit jars full....Still I valued every single one that i won as if it was a crown jewel and took it home and tossed it into the box with the others.......Just like magazines! :) PigPen |
| Damnit, this is contageous! I just ordered 9 from 79TRANSAM. This will just bring me up to novice status, but at least a bit more comfortable. I cannot see the price on decent USGI mags ever coming down and at the gun shows the 20 round mags that I prefery are becoming hard to find at any price. Now who has New In Wrapper mags for at AR15/M16? It might be nice to have a couple of those as well...... |
