| Actually, the more I look at it, the more practical it is. Or maybe it's just cuz it's 3am and I need sleep. But think about it, if he mounts it at the 3/6/9 o clock positions, the person cant hold onto the handguard. Not everybody wants a VDG. From what I can see, it looks like the ring starts at the center of the mount, and goes outwards. In this case, the left. |
Except your light source is blocked, and your eotech is blocked by the light source. |

Nope the Feds lost some 600 guns back in 2000 if I remember correctly. When I use to hang around some of the local gunsmith's and gunshops I remember seeing signs to look out for such and such weapon/body armor as it had been stolen out of an officers car. |
The DEA guy who mouted the sight and light might have spent his lunch break in the evidence room if you know what I mean |

There are several mistakes in that magazine. The one that made me laugh the most was on page 55....... "I recently attended the AR-15 Armorer Course taught by the ORIGINAL designers and manufacturers of the AR-15 rifle" (in reference to the current Armalite Co.) -REAPER2502 |

I sent one of our (KMC) Modular Weapons System (MWS) to a gun writter once with several different types of accessories so he could accessorize the weapon for several different missions, take appropriate pictures, etc. So to ensure that all the parts traveled well in the rifle case shiping container, I mounted any and all of the rail grabbing MWS accessories to either the top or bottom rail so the width of the weapon would be minimized. Problem was, this writter though I had put the accessoroies where they belonged and never changed any during his photo shoot. So the eventual article's pictures were quite bizarre, like with multible rear sights all mounted in tandum on the top rail. So maybe in the case above, the flashlight was sent to the writter mounted on the top rail for the same "shipping safety" reason, but the writter/photographer did't relocate it to a side rail, not knowing ant better. |
| I think everyone is forgetting the point of these magazines and their purpose, they need advertisements and sponsers to sell their products in their magazines, and it needs to draw attention to the eye of the "average consumer". The more Sh*t they can cram on a rifle @ once (especially on the cover) the more sponsers (MFRs) can display their stuff, the more revenue the mag can take in........IE why at the end of all these articles they have product lists....brownells, ARMS, surefire, etc......That way they can say...hey, Mr. Surefire Rep. we think this picture of our new AR-15 on the cover would look GREAT with your product on it, oh, by the way, you only used a 1/2 page ad in our mag this mo., are you sure you don't want to run a full page color afd instead? |
