All, Saw in the last circular from Fleet Farm they had the Simmons 30mm and 42mm red dot "Blazers" on sale. I picked up the 42mm for $39. I can still return it, but, I was wondering, how does it compare to the BSA or Tasco red dot products within a similar price range? (under $60) I see that they all basically work off the same priciple. A small LED/laser shoots a dot onto one of the internal surfaces and you look in one end and see it. The Simmons 42mm seems to have some problem with parallax (?), so I am guessing the other units (which all look VERY similar) have the same issue. It does not seem to be as bad from left to right as it is from up and down. Or is Simmons just junk? Is it an issue of those red dot sights larger than 30mm? My point in getting one is to become better aquainted with different firing positions and situations with my AR-15. (DPMS if you must know) Regards, -Warlock |
