I'm still new to ARs and I have only shot mine a few times. It's a Daniel Defense upper on a DPMS lower, in case anyone wants to know.
I went to clean it today and noticed this weird black, pitting-like texture on the feed ramps.

I've never noticed this before (then again, I didn't really pay much attention) and I'm wondering if this is an issue. I shot it two weeks ago and it worked flawlessly and I plan on taking it out again tomorrow. I always clean and oil it thoroughly after shooting and it hasn't been stored anywhere damp.

CLP, Hoppes #9 (or whatever) and a tooth brush.

Actually, no.

Daniel Defense Coats thier barrel extensions, inside and out, feedramps included with the same gritty coating as the barrel itself.

I removed the finish on my feedramps to aid in feeding.  as for the rest, don't worry about it, it will wear off over time.

Nope. I had already tried that before posting.
