I was putting my lower reciever together last night and I ran into an issue. I installed the bolt catch assembly onto the lower and the directions via this site stated that the bolt catch should function smoothly and is under tension from the spring. Well, It does not do that, It is really tight when I move it back and forth. I do realize how important it is to have everything right when assembling a gun. What can or should I do to make it looser? |
| Well, Im sure it will be a problem if it sticksa like it does. It should move freely and return back under tension of the spring, It dont. I have to do it manually. I was thinking that I could try to clean out the part on the bolt catch where the pin goes through. But it don't mean thats the issue. Might have to take it to a gunsmith and have him figure it out. |

You should be able to push the roll pin threw the bolt catch hole by hand (out of the rifle). If you can't, then check the bolt catch roll pin hole to make sure it's free of burs, and slightly larger than the roll pin diameter. If you find that the hole is too small, you could just ream the hole to the correct size, or get the supplier on the phone and have them send you a replacement part that is not defective. |
