| I bought a matched JD set does anyone have any experience with them good or bad ? |
|
I bought 2 lowers from them mid-Dec 2012, right around the time the shit hit the fan.
Took forever to get, which I understand. Both were cosmetically terrible - large gouges / blemishes and overall poor finish. One is not to spec - the hole for the pin into the selector is off center, so the selector is not square when in the safe / fire positions. I emailed them several times with no reply whatsoever. |

I know the owner got into some legal trouble over contracts with the Navy base at one point, but the shop was not impacted as far as I can tell.
I am a bit surprised to hear about quality issues. I walked through the shop and the machines and programs were state of the art. They farm the wet chemistry, but their final QC happens in their own shop. Only one of mine came after the madness cranked up and I went through Rifle Gear for that one, the others I took straight from their shop in SD. I hope they take care of their distant customers the same way they acted face to face. Sorry to hear the other end of the spectrum. |
| I just received a set from them not 5 days ago. Still waiting on a bunch of stuff to come in (barrel, bcg, gas block etc), but as far as the lower and upper are concerned mine is top notch. Machining is good with very little wobble. My PSA parts kit went in great. |

One is really bad. It's not hard to stay on top of this stuff these days - many vendors have a significant online presence, and reach out to dissatisfied customers. I posted a lot of pics, etc back when I received them along with multiple emails to the company and never heard shite... |
