What is the general opinion of the board on the standard single stage JP Trigger (the CMMG upgrade, specifically) for a police patrol rifle?  I was able to fire a magazine with this trigger and I love it, but I don't want to put a weak link into my rifle when I replace my Bushy lower with a CMMG lower.  If that would be the case, I'll just stick with the Mil. trigger. (I LOVE my CMMG upper, by the way!!! )

I have installed about 20 of John's triggers over the years. The first one is in my 3gun lower that has over 20,000 rounds on it. I have taken it out and cleaned and readjusted it once in the last 10 years. If installed properly it will give you trouble free service for a long time.

I would take it to someone who has done several of them with good results and not try to do it yourself. Make sure the cut on the back of the trigger is done right so there is no movement of the trigger with the safety on. If it is over cut it can be welded up and done over. Clean the adjustment screw hole with brake cleaner and use a small amount of red or green loctite on them.

If you wish to take it under 3# it will require stoning the face of the trigger to create a relief angle. With the proper amount of stoning a 1.5# reliable pull can be achieved.

If you are using it for a duty rifle I would just have it set a 4# and leave it at that. It will still be a great improvement over the stock cruncher.

20,000 rounds and 10 years!?!  Sounds good enough for me!
