I've heard people say that light strikes are a possibility. Has anyone here had this problem with the JP spring kit?

If you go with the 4 1/2 lb kit, I wouldn't worry about it. You might have issues if you use the 3 1/2 lb (yellow) and a cut down speed hammer with harder military primers. In that case JP makes a kit with a yellow trigger spring and a red hammer spring. I think it it's part number JPS3.5T. I use both the red (4.5) and the yellow (3.5) in my rifles and have never had a problem but I don't cut my hammers down.

Yup I would recommend the JPS3.5T with yellow hammer spring if you use any military ammo / primers.

I had yellow hammer spring and cut hammer and had several light strikes. I swapped back to the stock hammer spring with yellow trigger spring and am very happy.

My other trigger is cmmg 2 stage with red hammer and yellow trigger and also very happy.

+ 1, also using the 3.5 lb kit with red spring with the Jp speed hammer and haven't had any problems. I have only been shooting m855 and m193 out of my gun.

I use yellows in both a 9mm and a regular AR and have never had a problem. That said, my AR's are just toys. If I was going back to carring one for real, I'd stick a standard GI trigger and springs in.

people are recommending the JPS3.5T kit but the JP website says that these kits will not yield substantial changes to a standard trigger/hammer.

A pull of a standard LPK can be upwards of 10 lbs. The statement on the 3.5 lb set is this:

If you also do the set screw mod I believe the pull is closer to the 3.5 lbs (or at least it feels that way). Either way the difference even when doing NOTHING to the FCG yields a much better pull weight, In my opinion.
