Has anyone else tried one of the JP spring kits? I am looking to lighten up my trigger a little and don't really want to do the "15 minute trigger job". There is something about cutting off one of the legs of the hammer spring that I don't much care for. I would think it would put more pressure on one side of the hammer and pin and eventually cause it to wear prematurely? Also it looks like the short leg would move around inside the lower and I don't want it to get scratched up either I did polish the hammer and the sear (I didn't stone it, scared to go to far and get into soft metal) and that did smooth it up a little. I don't need an exspensive trigger, I am just a plinker.

| It definitely lightens the pull, but doesn't do anything for creep. I was also worried about light strikes on mine. I wound up using the standard hammer spring, with the JP yellow trigger and sear spring. This, along with the JP trigger pins gave me a decent trigger that I know will bust all primers. They sell a "tactical" trigger spring set up that is identical to what I did. Good luck. |

Yep. I used to have them installed. But when shooting some surplus ammo (Radway Green) I was getting light primer strikes. So I "cloned" their JP hammer buy cutting the tail end off mine. No more problems since. Great trigger for the money. The only thing it doesn't like is my Ciener kit. |
I have been considering doing this, how many #'s trigger pull did you end up with just guessing? |
I could measure the pull on a standard vs. JP springs tonight, if you want. |
