Howdy all, Im trying to decide between building a standard 20" A2 from JT, or just buying one from RRA. What Id like to know is: 1. For those of you with JT rifles, what kind of accuracy are you getting (especially if you can compare that to a factory assembled rifle)? 2. Ive seen that JT "guarentees all of their kits but I cant find the written guarentee on their website, do any of you know it? (may just have to email them) 3. Of the tools listed in the "How to Assemble a Lower" article which are essential. Ive been adding it up and if I buy all the tools I dont save that much by building one. Any info is appreciated. TIA. |

My JT shoots better than I can, which is an inch at a hundred meters, on a rare good day. If you're searching for it on their website, one tip you might want to look into is that it's spelled "guarantee".. Idunno, though. The tools you need are a roll pin punch set ($5 at a gunshow), and possibly a CAR stock wrench, a max of another $5. This is presuming you already own the "usual suspects"; screwdriver, hammer, and some masking tape. Heck, if anyone needed to borrow the wrench, I'd loan it out for the cost of postage. |

Answer #1: Freakin accurate. Although I've never scoped my J&T kit rifle with an EOTech I can get some great groups 1 - 2" at 100 yards. That is of course off of a bench rest on a calm day. None the less I'd say she's accurate enough! Ansewr #2: Don't know. Check their website or call them. They're good people and I'm sure they'll be glad to help. Also don't forget about the Industry portion of this website. Post your question there and I'm sure they'll answer. Answer #3: Roll pin punch sets can be purchased as mentioned at some gun shows. Wal-Mart has a nice set for about $9.99 in their tool department. A flathead screwdriver and a hammer are also needed. Masking tape is recomened so that when you slip the roll pin punch doesn't mar the surface of the receiver. CAR spanner wrench can be had at gun shows or off the internet for a decent price. |
