| I seem to remember some about these from the early 90s. Is it legal to add a J-hook to the end of the buffer on a AR pistol? This would be a some what like the the J-hook stocks on the old Spas 12s. |

Looks like a stock to me. I wouldn't put it on. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:Pc-rFYq19qDrzM:http://www.epicycle.org.uk/images/spas12.jpg Yeah thats the Spas 12....I wish I had never sold mine. What I am thinking of is more along the lines of a hook coming off the buffer tube and under the fore arm. This would be to counter the front end weight. I can not see calling it a stock any more than a buffer tube is a stock. Heck an elastic band around your fore arm and the buffer tube would do the same thing. |
| I would say that even if it isn't considered a stock it might be construed as a second grip if it were to be perpendicular to the line of the bore and somehow be an AOW instead of a pistol. I think you'd have to send a letter to BATFE tech and get their opinion. |
