Screw it on to the end of your cleaning rod, spear the patch in the center, and push the rod through the bore. The jag and the brush are the preferred method for cleaing bbls.

there jags, they work by centering the patch over the tip and pushing it down the bore. they work 100 times better than loop ever will. Your patch size has to be close ie you cant use a 30 cal patch down a 22 bore using a jag.

They are one direction only.

I have jags for all of my stash.

But, I just cut a Pro-Shot patch to fit around a Pro-Shot bronze-phosphor brush.  Then I soak it in H #9 and run it down the bore.  I use a fresh cut patch for each pass.

Thanks for the replies.

I will buy one. Do you go in the same direction as you would with the brush, from the chamber to the muzzle?

Yes, always clean from the chamber to the muzzle (firearm design permitting).
