I'm having a problem with my Ciener conversion in my 7.5" SBR. It only happens with my 7.5" upper. Every 5 or 6 rounds I get a case stuck between the front of the bolt and where it meets with the charge handle right in front of the gas tube. I can run 10 mags through my 16" upper, my 20" upper, and my brothers 10.5" upper without a problem. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the short gas tube on the 7.5" upper, and it seems worse when I shoot it with my YHM Suppressor on it. All the other guns have a carbine length gas tube or longer. Maybe the bolt is moving to fast or to much junk and gas is getting back in the action. I'm thinking about ordering a carbine length gas tube thats been bent around to fit in a 7.5" gas tube length, and I'm getting all the Black Dog Machine Ciener upgrades. If anyone has any ideas or has seen this problem I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

.22 kits do not use the gas tube.

I've had the same issue before (16" carbine) and a thorough cleaning fixed it.

+1 No gas tube. Try an extra power recoil spring. Wolfe sells them. If it gets worse with the suppressor, it may just be getting too much back pressure.

I've heard it's not enough back pressure with the shorter barrels. I've cleaned the hell out of it and that didn't help. and what's wierd is the can should help back pressure a little. It's like the emty case is hanging in the chamber to long and it gets stuck in the top of the receiver right between the gas tube and bolt face. The next round feeds into the chamber. The old case is what's jamming.  I tried a new extractor that took forever to get from ciener. I just ordered a Black Dog Machine extractor and spring kit so I'll see if that helps later this week.

Tom with Spikes says cut the recoil spring 1/2". He would know. He's built about 1500 now.
