I was pretty excited to buy a Geissele trigger for my Colt LE6920 now that the large pin models are out, but found out that the Geissele trigger will not fit in modern Colts due to the sear block.
So I researched the Jewell trigger a bit more and found that it is "Not recommended for use with military ammunition" on Midway's website.  Why?  I have heard it works well and has logged sandbox time, so why the disclaimer?

Solution: remove colt sear block.

I use a Jewel in my 3-gun rifle and it's an awesome trigger.
I have it adjusted WAY down, like 1.5lb 1st stage and 4 ounce 2nd stage.

I would not recommend it for duty or military use, but it's an excellent competetion trigger.

I shoot a Jewel in my Colt 6724 and it is a wonderful asset, set way low as well.  There are no reasons I can see why not to use "military" ammunition with such a rifle.  I use a large quanity of reloads with many bullet types and weights, no issues noticed.

WTF is this stuff?

I heard that folks have Jewells in the SPR's in use in Afghanistan, and Iraq right now.......

I've been planning on one for my Mk12.

Can someone tell me what 2 stage is in the military SPR's?

Crane uses the Knights 2 stage in the SPR's as far as I know.
I seriously doubt that they would use a Jewel.
Too many adjustments and it's just not a robust design.
The Giuselle (sp?) is supposed to be even more rebust than a knights as there are no user adjustments.
The adjustments are done during construction of the parts.

There may indeed be some "personally purchased" Jewel triggers in the sandbox, but I seriously doubt they were issued.
If you are building a clone and you won't be running around the sandbox, the Jewel will likely serve you well.
It's more adjustable than most triggers, but that's also gives more things to come loose.
In general, when Jewel's fail, they turn into single stage triggers, still functional, but no longer a 2 stage.
