Been lookin for a while guys for first AR.
Kept seeing Colt 6920 come up so....I went with it from DSG Arms for $945.00. Gun will be a plinker/Varmint getter. What bullet weights you boys using & where's a good ammo source––Palmetto Armory? Can I get 200 yds plus? Any opinions on scpoes/accessories appreciated. Thanks, Mark |

The only difference in the le6920 and SP6920 is the rollmark, name, a little money. The LE6920 has "RESTRICTED LAW ENFORCEMENT" verbage on the lower.
If you have a lot of cash an ACOG cant be beat. Aimpoints are good for closer work. Iron sights should get even a below average shooter to 200yards on a man sized target. |

From what I've read on the boards, supposedly the LE model is worth more to a potential collector.
What's your budget for the scope? How far out are you looking to shoot? There are lots of great scopes out there - Aimpoints, Eotech, Acogs, Nikon, Leupold, Viper, etc. Depends what you budget is and your primary objectives are with the rifle. I personally, have an Eotech 512 on Stag. It works great for what I do. On my other rifle which is a Rock River .308 I am saving up for a nicer magnified scope - leaning towards a Nightforce 2.5-10. |
| I recommened the Larue SPR/M4 mount. ive got two with Leupold 3-9x40 scope's in them, their pricey but worth it IMO. |

If you can, try and find friends, or make friends who have AR's with scopes/optics that you can try-borrow. If you are like me you are about to start spending a lot of money, hope you don't get the bug like I did, I could open a small gun shop with the crap I have in my basement.
I usually buy used, with higher quality optics like Aimpoint, Trijicon (acog/reflex/accupoints, etc.), eotechs, and others. When I know what I want, I hold out until I find a super deal, and I rarely buy new, but I've been at this for a long time, and I know what things go for and what I want. I would read up as much as you can, look at the optics page for "deals" and on the forums for "parts deals" as well, some times you can find new stuff, that's super cheap when a supplier starts closing out gear at dealer pricing. Learn about how scopes and optics work, zero hold, etc. There is alot of info out there. Good magazines can have tons of info, and good sources on the internet can have great info as well. You've got a good rifle, buy good optics, seriously don't cheap out on the selection but at the same time, don't run out and pay full retail on something you like, I still have an old Aimpoint Comp M before they had numbered designations that is a great optic, and works perfectly. The absolute worst thing is to take a very good quality rifle like a colt, then go to a local gun show, where someone is selling a knock off Chinese made trijicon for $50.00 and throw in on just to have it. Do your research you might prefer a 1-4 variable tube scope, I don't but that's me. Some people buy them so they look cool, some people buy them because they can shoot ten times better than me, and there are a great many reticle choices along with illumination. |
