I just picked one up, and I have not been able to put it on my 1/9 heavy barrel upper. Will it only fit Government profile barrels? Thanks in advance.

As I understand it, it will fit MOST hbars out there.
The area immediately behind the FSB has to be around .81" IIRC.
I installed mine on a Gov't barrel so no worries for me.

As always, coldblue is the man (literally) when it comes to KAC stuff.

I and many others have successfully installed the M5 on heavy barreled uppers, I think unless you have a bull barrel, it should work.

I have one on a Colt 20" HBAR and have it fits like a glove. No problems.
