So Im looking into these rails wondering about some of the differences between these M4 RAS M4 URX RAS thanks |

If you're talking about the "drop-in" RAS that is a 2 peice designed to replace the standard plastic handguards. The FF RAS is of course a free float unit that replaces the delta ring assembly. The URX is a free float rail that replaces the delta ring assembly, the bottom rail is removable for either barrel maintenance and or to install a M203. The top rail is "mono-lithic" in that it proves continous rails from the front to the back of the weapon. Both systems above have a gap. The URX also requires someone with a special set of tools to install the rail. I have both a URX and M4 RAS and like them both but the URX is light years ahead. They both do the same task but the URX is much more secure, offers a slimmer profile, and the continous top rail which I make use of. |
Yepper, Marvin can be found here as SR-47 (I think) and if you go over to www.biggerhammer.net/stoner/wwwboard/ and look up the user MOA, he also does installs. Both KAC employees with all the correct installation tool. |

I've had an M4 RAS on my ar for quite some time now and I love it. Only thing holding me back from buying a URX II is that extra bit of metal on the front of the top rail. Call me crazy but I want my front BUIS to sit flush with the end of my forearm's rail. I'll probably just give Mr. LaRue a call. |
