Can anyone tell me why some Knights RAS systems have a Hex head screw and others have a straight head. I think the RIS has straight head and the RAS  has the Hex head. Does enyone know.....

Unsure, but I can tell you that my M4 RAS has the hex screw.

Becareful of where you buy your KAS stuff. Lots of fakes out there built for airsoft crap. My KAC RAS II rails have straight head screws. If you are unsure call Knights and ask. They are pretty helpful.

on is RIS and one is RAS I believe.

that pic shows the newer KAC RAS version

there's a clip that holt the screw in place so you won't loose it
also the fron flat spring is different but I dont know why

I thought they changed it......I know about the clip for th screw. What confused me is that I just got one with the flat scret manuf. 3/08 and clip and one with the hex head manuf. 2/05.

I guess because the straight head screws are way easier to tighten on the field

Newer RAS's have the bolt retainer and a slot head bolt. Slightly older ones have the hex bolt w/retainer.
