So the other day my rifle got a bit wet, so I popped my RAS of (which upon further review was unnecessary) because I thought there was some surface rust, but it was not. Anyhow, am putting the ras back on now and there a decent amount of play that I never noticed before. Now I only notice this when using the VFG but again it's a good amount of movement.
One thing I noticed is it does not seem to be seated in the the hand guard cap as well as it was before? I am 99% sure it's in there correct but there seems to be a large noticeable space between the cap and the front of the ras, like you can see the tab that fits under the cap now, never noticed it before. Could the hand guard cap have been bent to the point that it would cause this or..? Edit: If I push the rail into the cap hard I can get it to remain there, still seems like there is a bit of play if I pull the on the VFG. Edit 2: Put it back on, still a bit of wiggle but much more normal now, maybe there was this wiggle before and I never noticed it? meh. Did over tighten the locking screw ALOT because I didn't read the directions. Backed it off and redid it proper or so I assume, hopefully didn't mess it up too much. |
