Got the damn screws for the sling swivel tight and I can't get them loose, I've broken 3 of the star head wrenches...... I am planning to grab one from work tomorrow, but I am worried of totally stripping the heads.... Do keymods have a habit of binding?

I know I sound retarded but it is completely jammed.... Will not move at all, and when I put it on I didn't cross thread it...

Spray them with Kroil, or WD-40 now.... let them sit overnight.

I actually just had this issue earlier today.

I used a Bic Lighter to apply a small amount of heat, while also turning the torx bit, it worked.

Are the screw and the nut dissimilar metals by chance? That's a common cause of locked threads, and you're usually f**ked when that happens. Try some heat if you're sure you won't damage anything, but they may just be stuck. The solution is anti-seize but it's obviously too late for that.

I'm going to assume so, I think BCM uses aluminum for the nuts with steel screws..... I guess if worse comes to worse I can just put the upper on the drill press and drill off the heads of the screws..... Really annoying though.....

would it be an upgrade or a down grade to change it out for a larue 12.0 rail?

definite upgrade in weight savings, and ergonomics. KMR rails feel great in the hand.

The KMR turned me off of Keymod.  The MLOK rail made me hate MLOK.  Back to picatinny.
