| Does anyone here run the KNS crosshair style front sight on their AR? Its an interesting concept to me but I am torn between that and an XS tritium front post. Any input in appreciated |
| I tried one and didn't like it. The cross hairs are small enough to make it difficult to focus on them and large enough to obstruct the target at >50 yards. It gave me a kind of cluttered sight picture. I am more accurate with the standard front sight post. Then again, this was on a carbine length sight radius. A longer sight radius might make a difference, idk? |

I run one and personally much prefer it to the standard post. That be said there are a few caveats...
I am using the hooded duplex. It is far more precise for me. But,... You can't use a sight tool. (minor pain in the ass, but I always forget mine anyway and use a bullet tip) You cannot adjust in quarter increments. Half turns only. The wires are small enough that when looking from a light area into a dark one, such as a wooded environment you can "lose" the wires. That being said I still prefer it to a stock wide post. The circular reticle you wind up with centers itself even easier than the post does. I find a stock wide post obstructs much more of my targets than the wires do. I am thinking about trying a small ball-type post next to see how I like that. But I would and do recommend the cross-hair posts to others. Several people that have shot my rifle felt the same way. As always, YMMV. |
