Just tried to zero a new 10.5" 300 blackout bbl and while using a SF socom I'm getting keyhole hits. I have tried factory ammo as well as reloads all with the same result. The can shouldn't be causing this unless the rifling is jacked some way. Tried a few without the can and they appeared to be OK. The twist is 1-8.5. This twist should stabilize the 110-125 grn bullets. Spoke to the mfr and they will swap the bbl out. Just doesn't make any sense to me

Stop using the suppressor on the rig !!!!!!!!
Either the barrel bore is not concentric to the suppressor's bore, or the pressure in the suppressor through the baffles is causing the bullets to destabilize. To what degree the problem is, is a mystery at this point since you have yet to have a baffle strike, but pushing your luck too long will end up with a baffle strike to destroy the suppressor instead. As for the problem being the barrel, could be the FS threads are not concentric to the bore, or a problem with the muzzle crown and the gasses off the cans blast section causing the bullets destabilization. |
