This is an FYI. I've read quite a bit on this site about the 6920 not being sold to civilians by Colt. I've never seen any letters or statements by Colt relating to their position on this issue. So, I wrote them a letter at the beginning of March requesting their side. To date I have not received any sort of reply from Colt. Either they're very busy or they don't give a damn about me. I have bought their product in the past. It appears that they really have a contempt for the civilian market.

There are plenty of dealers that sell the 6920, I have yet to see any documentation saying Colt will pull dealer status for selling to civvies, despite all the barnyard chatter.

Some dealers are gouging prices, but I could order a LE6920 from SAW today, or go downtown and buy one from Bachman, they have more than 20 in stock. Just have to pay higher prices.

It's the old wisdom; if you don't like the company, don't buy from them. I don't understand why so many have to get emotionally involved with this. For those who see excellent product quality as more important than "feel good" customer service or cheap prices, then Colt still remains a viable alternative.

That's just my take. I don't have a problem with buying Colt products.

ETA: Colt certainly isn't the only AR manufacturer making a quality product.

Colt is only selling LEO rifles to established LEO dealers (and there are only a couple), or to regular FFLs who can supply department letterhead.

It doesn't matter if a dealer sells a 6920 or not (they may have ordered them before the policy changed), but they won't get another one to sell without letterhead.

I have pruchased 2 Colts in the past 3 days.  One on the net, and then at the Sportsmans Club at Ft. Huachuca one showed up.  I took both while I could so each of my sons will have one.

As I stated in my original post, this was just an FYI. I wanted to show that Colt doesn't even extend the courtesy of a reply. In my little corner of the world, I know of one dealer with a 6920 and he won't sell it to me. Hey,Red65, sorry about the missplelled word.
