Where I work we have about 35 of the Surefire 6v model 674 tac lights on rifles. We were thinking of upgragding them to LED bulbs Are there any alteritives to Surefire's bulbs? It looks like the Surefire ones are about 40.00 each

There are alternatives, ranging from twice as expensive (but greatest quality), to 1/3 the price and lower quality (but a good value).

Malkoff Devices
The M60 is probably considered the best led replacement drop-in for P60-style lamps.  Here, but it's more expensive.  However, it is currently on sale.

On the cheap end, you have drop-ins that are not quite as bright as the Malkoff, with lower run-time and lower build quality.  This is what I use in my 6P and 9P, and for the price ($12.40 shipped), it is amazing.  Personally, I think everyone with a 6P or other light that takes P60 lamp assemblies, should have one of these, at least to start with.

I've been down the P60 replacement road and have a bunch of unused drop-ins to prove it. I've had mixed results with BOG and other units and will still use them for "drawer lights". On my weapons, however, I only use the Malkoff. He sells a range of units that run the spectrum from constant 80lm for 8 hours up to 235lm for about 2 hours (9v host). He also sells some awesome flood models that that create a beautiful area filling light at the expense of some throw. And the quality is first rate!

Am I the only one who can't get the Malkoff drop-ins to fit into the Surefire dedicated forend weaponlights? They don't fit in my 628 or 618 -- just don't drop down far enough into the head.
